List any special training you have had (music, art, drama, dance, etc.)

I am a Sagittarian, born on the Cusp of Scorpio. If one was to read the description of my zodiac sign and also study the description of an individual born on my birthday, November 24th they would have a clear outline of me, my personal traits, my strengths, and my weaknesses.

I am an extremely creative and excel in all aspects of visual, mental, and spiritual arts. I have a dynamic and alluring personality. I am confident, courageous, and adventurous. I thrive and am distinguished in all forms of art. My individuality shines the brightest when I activate my creative talents. I crave music, enjoy laughing, and need freedom to create.

Throughout my life I have always been eager and overly enthusiastic. People admire my positivity and my ability to convey an aura/glow around me that lightens the mood of those in my presence. I love the spotlight. I basically always want to create a great mood and environment around me… anywhere I go and no matter what situation I am engaged in. One of my favourite forms of art is improvised acting. I like improvised acting because it is instantaneous and delivers unexpected surprises.

Over the years, I have participated in numerous school productions. Including: acting as Little Red Riding hood, being a reporter in the play Titanic, and I starred in a role as Santa’s Little Penguin. In high school I was an active member within the Drama club and also took Drama and Acting as electives to graduate. I got full marks on a 5 minute monologue about cotton candy which later earned me a job to open for a dinner theatre production. More recently, In University I have set aside space to take Acting as a degree accepted elective. In this class we spent a lot of time studying art, drama, and theater. As individuals we were assigned projects such as observing and analyzing conversations surrounding us, writing our own plays, improvising, touring local art centers, and developing our own personal theatre skills.

Also, while in elementary school and high school I participated in our school’s band. Therefore, I have taken lessons with the Oboe, Clarinet, and Saxophone. The list of my artistic talents is extensive. In addition, I also used to take dance lessons as a youth. However, as I have grown older I have grown away from the sport due to other interests. In the future I know that I could quickly relearn the skills needed to play. I think music and dancing is beautiful, healthy, and important in every life.

In what sports, if any, have you participated?

I am extremely athletic and the list of sports I have participated in is quiet long and extensive. I am a contortionist, in the sense that I can avidly pose as a titleholder/beauty queen with poise and class. However, I was born in Saskatchewan. I grew up without boundaries… OUTSIDE! I love adventure, fresh air, fresh-cool water, and the outdoors. I truly despise getting dirt under my nails! However, I crave and long for the adrenaline and thrill that physical activity grants me. I am a machine and I am competitive but I am still extremely generous and friendly. I love working with a team of unique individuals. I feel like team work enables us to feed off each other’s individualities, strengths, and weaknesses in order to create and achieve the best possible success.

Since I was a young child I played soccer. I played soccer from the age of 4 and continue to play until this present day. I have a collection of medals that amounts to over 50+ earned. Throughout my adolescents my parents granted me the opportunity to travel city to city to participate on the provincial Division 1 soccer team. I also spent my adolescents playing competitive provincial volleyball. I am a leader and played the role of team captain for many of my teams. I am an advanced snowboarder, I strength train at the gym, cross country run, and I am an avid swimmer; I participate in several watersports, including wakeboarding, skiing, and wake surfing.

Most importantly, I am not afraid. Normally, I am the only girl or 1st girl to take on a risk or act on a dare. For example, one day I went swimming with a group of friends. I wanted to experience of jumping off the 15 m diving board. A male friend of mine refused to do it but I managed to convince him to come up the stairs with me. We both stood at the top as I debated whether or not I jump and how I could safely maneuver it. Within in minutes I just ran and attempted it. Later on, my friend pulled me aside and side “Wow, my class of journeymen refrigeration mechanics are going to laugh tomorrow when I tell them this story of a girl in a little pink bikini was more driven and motivated than myself to jump off the high diving board at the pool. :p!”

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?

Several people have influenced me throughout my life. I would definitely say my parents but since I cannot say them than I would say my older sister, my younger brother,  both sets of grandparents, all of my direct family, my hand selected family (my friends), and music.

It would be very difficult for me to pinpoint one ultimate person who has had the greatest impact on my life because there have been several people who’ve helped shaped me into the lady I am today. There is a quote that really describes my view about my life; who and what has had the most influence on me. The quote is, “We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other with us”. I am a free wandering spirit, I adapt easily, and I am made to explore. I like this quote because every day, every week, and every month of every year we as individuals are faced with new challenges and interact with new people. I am like a sponge, in the sense that I am extremely observant. Just from listening and observing the behaviors and actions of society around me I am able to learn huge amounts.

Aside from that thought, I also like to think that I am the most important influential person in my life. I am me. I make my own decisions as an independent woman. I am the personality and soul behind my drive, determination, and stamina. I think of it like this, “At the end of a difficult, draining, and challenging day the best and only person to help me regain my strength is me”.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?

I have competed in national and international beauty pageants since I was 14 years old. If I had to identify my proudest personal accomplishment aside from competing in this pageant, than I would say it is my 3 consecutive Miss Congeniality awards. I’ve competed in 1 national pageant at the age of 14. At this teen pageant I was to my shock rewarded Miss Teen Congeniality. The following year I travelled to Costa Rica to compete for Miss Teen International. I went with about 3 weeks’ notice the Canadian girl who was supposed to go backed out last minute. Therefore, I was called in as a replacement! I don’t turn down good opportunities and with my parents support, I did it.  At this pageant there were 25 contestants. I was the youngest, I was 15 years old. The next youngest girl was 18 years old. I was so thrilled when I was awarded Miss Teen Congeniality and also 2nd runner up. I know I would have won if I would have been a few years older. Lastly, Last year my mother called me one afternoon in between classes at the university. She has more amazing news. She asked me if I would once again go to an international beauty pageant on short notice. I managed to write my university finals early and jetted off to Miss Globe in Northern Cyprus with my mother. It was an exhausting and amazing experience. I once again, know I could’ve won. However, due to my minimal time to prepare I was not in the physical shape I needed to be in to win. I still was recognized my many and awarded Miss Congeniality for the 3rd time.

Aside from these accomplishments, I also feel like my experiences such as: earning a graduating scholarship, being a young entrepreneur, renting-to-own a condo, Au pairing for 4 young boys in South Africa, and being completely independent and responsible for my own bills by the age of 20 are all huge accomplishments. My hard work is paying off and I am a huge believer in true karma.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?

The most interesting thing that has ever happened to would be the decision to relocate to South Africa for ½ of a year to take on the huge responsibility of becoming a nanny. I was responsible for 4 boys under the age of 5. This really tested me as a person.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

As I’ve mentioned before I am an entrepreneur. My career ambitions are diverse and undefined. I understand who I am and where I am headed but as a young entrepreneur I am just patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to cross my path. I am confident that I will be successful, I will be a voice, I will be a role model for others, I will travel and I will operate my own businesses, be an amazing mother, love my husband, and age with grace! Thank you.

*What would be your “dream job” in life?

My dream job would be to operate my own concierge company. I would love to be able to travel and speak on behalf of several others. I would love to be the “Goto” contact for anyone entering Canada or Saskatchewan. My idea would be to act a personal tour guide and give 1st hand recommendations and assist with plans throughout their stay.

I’ve always had the idea in my head that I would like to portray the role of a life coach. I feel I know how to make the most of life. I love being positive and healthy. My dream job would be to make a sufficient income as an organizational life coach. I would be delighted to wake up every morning and share my positive outlook on life with others. I would like to provide inspiration to others. In attempt to help these individuals find inner peace and happiness within themselves and their immediate surroundings. I would plan on teaching them to make healthy choices, stay fit, look amazing, feel fantastic, travel, experience culture, and organize their schedule to make the most of their days.

It is a fresh-classy establishment associated with the franchise Original Joe’s. Aside from severing, I am involved with a huge company that is tackling the world’s health an obesity issue. This company is known as Visalus or the Body by Vi Challenge.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in Northern Saskatchewan. The city I grew up in is named Prince Albert. Presently, my city has a population of approximately 50 000 citizens. Prince Albert is known as the “Gateway to The North” because we are the Northern most city in Saskatchewan, we are the only bridge to the north for miles.

My parents are amazing; I thank them for granting me the experiences and opportunities they have since day 1. My parents met when they were in grade 10 and have been together since. I believe, it sums up to 32 years together. They are my inspiration and role models. I grew up as the middle child and truly believe I am who I am today due to their guidance. My parents were strict and taught me discipline, to be responsible, and work for what I have. For my age of 20, I often shock people when I list where I have all travelled. I am happy to say that both of my parents are adventurous and shared that with us as children.

What is your most unusual talent?

I have a couple unusual talents. I don’t feel as if they are life altering. However, everyone is unique and has their own special talents my most unusual talent is my ability to maneuver my eyes “Crazily”… I can go crossed eyed, I can spin my eyes in opposite directions, I can spin one while the other stays put, etc.

Where is the most interesting place you have been to?

South Africa is the most interesting place I’ve ever been to. It was especially interesting because not only did I live there for almost half a year but at the same time I also took on a whole new role as an individual. I travelled with a family and was employed as their nanny.  I was the assisting mother of 4 young boys aged 0-5 years old. The experiences and sights I saw in this beautiful country are like no other! I truly grew up as an individual and at the same time my eyes were opened up to a lot that I didn’t know about the world and other cultures before.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years?

In ten years I want to be healthy, happy, active, youthful, and in love. My goal is to create and develop a midsized business that I can brand and market myself. I am an entrepreneur and as I age I want to teach others from my experiences. I strive to be a role model for other females, especially to females who are aspiring business oriented entrepreneurs. Right now I’m 20 years old. In 10 year I imagine myself as being independent and able to provide for myself and the other loved ones around me. I want to be extremely dominant and healthy. I want men to look at me and almost feel intimidated because they will understand I am professional, smart, serious, and very aware of my goals.

Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?

I am assuming I am one of the youngest contestants in this year’s MUC pageant. However, I feel age is just a number and several people often make the mistake of underestimating our youth!  I am delighted to be here and proud to representing my home province of Saskatchewan. I strive for excellence and will devote myself to commitments I make. I look forward to the future and am anxious to discover all the possibilities it holds. I feel I have the potential, strength, and skill to hold the national title, represent, and have Canada distinguished and recognized at this year’s Miss Universe Pageant!
