Josianne El-Seikali

Age: 19 | Height: 5’6″
Hometown: Gatineau, QC

Josianne Seikali was born in Gatineau, Quebec. A very upbeat, positive, and creative individual, Josianne loves to spend time with her friends and family, as they are very important to her.  She also enjoys travelling, dancing, swimming, humanitarian aid, volunteering, helping others in any way possible, laughing and smiling to others, living big adventures, going to school and learning new languages.

Josianne is multilingual, and knowing 4 languages gives her facilities to meet new people and to communicate easily when she travels.

On her bucket-list is the hope that through her career and other opportunities, she will be able to visit as many countries in the world as she can with the main goal to seeing, tasting and touching each of the different cultures. Josianne also feels that exercise and eating properly are a very important part of leading a healthy and well-balanced life.

This beloved and clean-hearted young woman is one of the most intelligent and determinate students in each and every class she attends.  An “A” student in sciences and mathematics, she has also participated in many different intellectual competitions where she has placed at the top.

Josianne is not only a ball of happiness, she is also a great listener to new ideas and is astonishing confident. Reliability and generosity are what she is known for. Modesty provides Josianne with demonstrated versatility and accessibility to anyone who crosses her path. Josianne’s personality is no more than breathtaking.

This lovely young lady constantly encourages other women to have the confidence in themselves to achieve anything they put their mind to. Her outlook is that life is beautiful and a gift to us, so we should not take anything for granted because it can be taken from us at any moment.

It is our choice in how we live it. She has learned to appreciate the life she has, and strongly believes that life is not a right; it is a blessing, and it is up to ourselves to make it the best we can, because we only have one chance to live it.

Her motto is Marilyn Monroe’s quote: “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?

Mother Teresa, a beloved and clean heart humanitarian, who had sacrified her life to help others with the main goal to change the world for the best. She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever heard of and she has left considerable marks forever on Earth with her memorable acts. Because of her charity towards poor and for her passionate pro-life stance, she is known throughout the world.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?

I’ve won the first place in the French contest: Dictee des auteurs de l’Outaouais and have been identified in the 30 best high school students in mathematics in all Quebec.  Also, I’ve had many honor mentions during my studies in College privee Saint-Joseph de Hull

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?

I have met an lonely old man who has AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases and who is rejected from society because no one wanted to talk with him or be close to him. So I spent a whole day with him to give him love, attention and affection by hugging him and listening to him and he really has changed my point of view on life and how to live it and he also made me realize things that I couldn’t see before. He showed me that we have to love and to show this love to people because it gives that person strength to excel in life.

Also, a very memorable moment is when I was shopping in Montreal and there were two adolescents that were fighting in the middle of the mall and everyone looked at them and passed by without stopping them from fighting because no one wanted to be involved in this. One of them was covered in blood and the other one didn’t stop fighting him. I got so mad and a boost of energy came in me so I ran between them and pushed them away from each other. They looked at me strangely because it was a girl who stopped them. So I told them: What are you guys doing? That’s not mature at all! Instead of fighting, talk and explain things to each others.  I don’t ever want to see you fight anymore! You want to be real men? Than act like ones and be peaceful. So they both went their own way, and I helped the one that was injured and called an ambulance. Everyone in the mall was looking at me impressed and they started to clap their hands.

I live to help others because it’s when I help that I really feel good inside of myself and I feel like I did something good about my life.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

I want to excel in my career to help poor people and all the people in need, and open foundations with the money I’ll be making. With my health knowledge, I want to heal sick people. I’m intending to open my own pharmacies with my sister who is a pharmacist.
