Zorica is determined to use her education and skills to pursue a career as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. During her journey, she has become fascinated with this field, fueling her passion to care for others. As a nursing student, Zorica has had the gratifying opportunity to change lives by advocating for her clients and providing stellar patient care.

Zorica is a member of The Golden Key International Honours Society and balances her studies with volunteering in a local long-term care facility and assisting those with dementia with their daily tasks. She has also volunteered with Golden Key at the Downtown Mission and has been a member of various University of Windsor clubs such as Enactus and the Connecting4Success Mentorship Program highlighting her leadership qualities and community engagement.

Zorica has been greatly influenced by writer, “Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie” because of her passionate views on social issues facing society today. Zorica believes her activism and her success as an influential female author is inspirational. It has served as a catalyst in helping shape Zorica’s own message of eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Zorica can be described as independent, strong, witty and kind. She enjoys working out and strives to maintain a healthy lifestyle as she would like to set a positive example for her future clients. Some of Zorica’s favourite hobbies include attending concerts and traveling. In 2015, Zorica spent three months working and living in Los Angeles, California and said, “California was life changing. The experience afforded me the privilege of meeting many inspiring people. It helped me grow as a person by giving me the confidence to embrace new experiences such as this pageant.”

Zorica’s ambitions also include spending a semester studying in Sweden to broaden her skill set by learning how nursing differs in other countries and applying that knowledge to her practice. She will also take that opportunity to travel across Europe where a large part of her family resides.

She says, “My career goal is to be in a position where I have the education and resources to help those who are struggling to find hope.” Zorica hopes this pageant will help further her platform and message on a larger scale while reinforcing her goal to embrace the new opportunities life throws her way.
