Mikala Beaulé was born and raised in the small town of Cottam Ontario, where she currently resides. Mikala is a recent graduate from Essex District High School, achieving an overall academic average of over 90% throughout all 4 years. Mikala was offered to purse a post-secondary education at The University of Windsor for Forensic Science with a Specialization in Chemistry. She has always had a passion for criminal science and post mortem investigation.

Growing up, Mikala has always had a strong passion for helping others, whether its volunteer work for her community, or her passionate care for maintaining a healthy environment. Volunteering has played an important part in Mikala’s life. She finds self reward and sense of accomplishment when strengthening her community and bringing people together. Mikala has always had a special bond with the Canadian Cancer Society and ASL Foundation. Her hard work and constant dedication to volunteering has created awareness for special foundations like these. The Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County hits close to home for Mikala. 2009 was a hard year for Mikala and her family. Three of her grandparents had passed away within the a few months of each other. Her grandparents played a large part in her upbringing as a child, and to lose three of them in the span of a year was tough on Mikala. That never stopped her though, the strong bond she shared with her grandparents stayed true in her heart and she continued to work hard, which brought her to be the strong, independent young women she is today.

This is the first time Mikala has participated in a pageant. She is honored to have received the opportunity to compete with some amazing women in the Miss Universe Canada 2019 Western Ontario Pageant. Mikala hopes that her dedication and passion for hard work brings awareness that nothing is impossible even in the toughest times. She is someone who has been self-concious about herself and has been bullied for her appearance. Mikala hopes to gain a positive experience through Miss Universe Canada and to push herself to try new things. She believes this humbling experience will teach her many values as she walks the runway in the footsteps of previous empowering women. She carries the motto of “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”
