Hometown: Brampton, ON
Languages: Gujarati, English, Hindi
Occupation: Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University Toronto
Charmy Brahmbhatt is a published model, trained Kathak dancer, psychology graduate, and passionate mental health advocate. Born in India and raised in Toronto, Canada, Charmy is a proud first-generation Canadian woman who has made it her mission to break societal and cultural barriers around women’s roles in both career and identity. Charmy grew up in a family where legacy is highly valued. While her family named their business after her brother, reinforcing the traditional belief that men carry the family legacy, Charmy is forging her own path. She’s on a mission to create her own legacy, proving that success is determined by individual capabilities and the courage to lead, regardless of gender.
With two distinctions in Indian classical dance and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, Charmy is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She’s also a crisis responder at Kids Help Phone and has volunteered with mental health organizations supporting survivors of sexual abuse. Her lived experiences and education fuel her dedication to empowering women from the inside out through her initiative Unlimit Her Mind, which promotes subconscious empowerment.
After being told she didn’t meet industry standards due to her height, Charmy went on to build her own modeling brand—becoming a published model and proving that determination and self-belief matter more than outdated expectations. As a passionate performer and former Bollywood dance instructor, she continues to blend culture, confidence, and creativity in all that she does.
Charmy recently placed as a runner-up at a national pageant, where she also earned both the Supermodel and Public Speaking awards—recognition of her hard work, authenticity, and stage presence. Now, she’s focused on breaking yet another stereotype: that no one wins Miss Universe on their first try. True to her story, she’s determined to defy expectations once again.
Whether it’s on stage, in front of the camera, or behind the scenes of community work, Charmy represents the modern Canadian woman: grounded in her roots, fueled by resilience, and committed to creating a legacy of impact and empowerment.

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?
I’m passionate about challenging outdated societal narratives—especially the belief that women are only meant to be support systems or side characters. Through my platform Unlimit Her Mind, I focus on subconscious empowerment, helping women break mental barriers and step into careers, goals, and ambitions with confidence. With a background in psychology and extensive volunteer work in women’s empowerment, I find purpose in turning mindset into momentum. I also express myself creatively as a published model, a Kathak dancer with two distinctions, and a growing influencer. What I enjoy most is using every part of my journey to prove that women aren’t just impactful—they are the main characters of change.
List any special training you have had (music, art, drama, dance, etc.)
I am currently receiving formal training in Classical Indian dance (Kathak), which I’ve been dedicated to for the past two years. So far, I’ve earned two distinctions in my theoretical and practical based exams, and continue to deepen my understanding of the art form. Kathak has taught me not only rhythm and grace, but also storytelling and emotional expression. In addition, my academic background in psychology has provided me with training in cognitive techniques and mindset development—skills I apply through my platform Unlimit Her Mind to help women reshape limiting beliefs. Although I haven’t had formal training in public speaking or modeling, I was proud to receive both the Public Speaking and Supermodel awards at my last pageant, reflecting how authenticity and drive can be just as impactful.
Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
The person who has had the most influence on my life is the woman I’ve grown into. She’s the version of me who didn’t fit the traditional height standards for modeling, faced countless rejections, and still chose to show up. She overcame deep self-doubt and cultural expectations to create her own identity—one built on resilience, purpose, and authenticity. Despite not fitting the mold, she built her own platform, became a published model, and used her journey to empower others. She’s the reason I launched Unlimit Her Mind, to help women break subconscious limits and rewrite their own stories. She reminds me every day that we are not defined by the barriers we face, but by the courage we use to rise beyond them.
What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?
My proudest personal accomplishment was placing as a runner-up in a recent pageant. I worked tirelessly to prepare, pushing through self-doubt and growing stronger with every challenge. Not only did I place as a runner-up, but I also won the Supermodel and Public Speaking awards, which solidified my belief in the power of hard work and authenticity. Alongside this, I’m also proud of earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, one of Canada’s top universities. Juggling academics with my pageant journey taught me how to balance discipline, resilience, and self-confidence. Both of these accomplishments represent my growth and remind me of the strength I have to overcome any obstacle.
What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
The most interesting thing about me is my journey in the modeling industry. I was once told that my height (5’4″) would limit my opportunities, but instead of accepting that, I chose to break through those barriers. I built my own brand, proved that success doesn’t have to conform to traditional standards, and became a published model. This journey is unique because it wasn’t just about defying industry norms—it was about redefining what it means to be “successful” and showing others that their worth isn’t dictated by external expectations. It’s a powerful reminder that we can create our own path, no matter the obstacles.
What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
My career ambition is to create my name in the entertainment industry as an actress, model, influencer, and dancer. My pageant journey has been a significant part of this ambition, as it has allowed me to develop confidence, public speaking skills, and a deeper understanding of self-presentation. Competing in pageants has taught me how to stay focused and resilient in the face of challenges, and I plan to continue using those lessons to further my career. I’m actively building my modeling portfolio, training in Kathak dance, and seeking out acting opportunities through classes and auditions. By combining my pageant experience with ongoing training and dedication, I am focused on becoming a multifaceted figure in entertainment.
What would be your “dream job” in life?
My dream job would be to be a successful model and actress, known for my talent on a global scale. I want to work with top brands, directors, and major films, but more than that, I want to prove that talent and potential, when combined with determination and hard work, can help you achieve your dreams. There are no limits to what you can do if you commit to your goals and push through challenges. I want to inspire others to believe in themselves and show that with resilience, anything is possible.
Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born in India and came to Canada when I was just 2 years old. My parents are immigrants who truly lived a journey from the bottom up, yet they made sure my brother and I had the best possible childhood. They instilled in us an ambitious, growth-oriented mindset, something I have definitely inherited. As a child, I was extremely shy, quiet, and reserved. I vividly remember one moment when I was about to go on stage and I started crying and throwing a tantrum because I was terrified. But as soon as the music started playing, I stopped crying and began performing. That was the moment I realized that being on stage brought out a completely different side of me. While I’ll always be calm and reserved at my core, over the years, I’ve transformed into an empowered, confident, and strong woman who knows her potential and isn’t afraid to go for it.
List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.
My first job was as a Bollywood dance instructor at two recreational centers in Brampton, where I taught dance to kids and teens. While it may not be unusual, it was definitely an unconventional job for someone at my age. It was a unique experience that allowed me to share my passion for Bollywood dance, connect with younger generations, and help them build confidence through movement. Teaching dance helped me develop leadership, patience, and creativity while making a positive impact on my students’ lives.
List any volunteering you have done.
I am currently a crisis responder at Kids Help Phone, where I provide support to young people in need. I’ve also volunteered at Hope 24/7, an organization that provides mental health services to survivors of sexual abuse. These experiences have been incredibly meaningful to me, as they have allowed me to give back to my community and support individuals facing mental health challenges. Volunteering has also taught me valuable skills in empathy, active listening, and crisis management, and has deepened my passion for advocating for mental health awareness.
What is your most unusual talent?
Although I’m not a singer by profession, I’ve often been told that I have a naturally pleasant singing voice. But what truly stands out is my natural ability on the runway—I’ve always been told I have an effortless catwalk. It’s something that came to me intuitively, and over time, I’ve refined it into one of my strongest stage skills.
Where is the most interesting place you have been to?
I’ve been lucky enough to visit some incredible places like Punta Cana, Cuba, Mexico, Florida, and India—but the most interesting experience by far was my Europe tour. Exploring different countries, cultures, and histories all in one trip was unforgettable. From the elegance of Paris to the charm of Italy and the rich history of London, each stop had something unique to offer. It opened my eyes to the beauty of the world and gave me a deeper appreciation for how diverse and inspiring different cultures can be.
What do you hope to be doing in ten years?
In ten years, I hope to be a well-established name in the entertainment industry—as a successful actress, model, and influencer who works with top global brands and film directors. I envision myself using my platform not just to perform, but to inspire—proving that with talent, determination, and hard work, there are no limits to what you can achieve. I also hope to mentor and uplift others, especially young women, who are chasing big dreams just like I once was.
Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?
Yes—I’d like to emphasize that everything I’ve achieved so far has been rooted in resilience, self-belief, and a refusal to settle for limitations. As a first-generation Canadian woman, I’ve navigated cultural expectations, rejections in the modeling industry due to my height, and the internal battles of self-doubt. Yet today, I stand as a published model, a trained classical dancer with distinctions, a crisis responder, and a pageant runner-up who earned both the Supermodel and Public Speaking awards. I’m just getting started.
People often say that no one wins Miss Universe on their first try—but I’ve never been one to follow the rules or accept limitations. I strive to break that stereotype, just as I’ve broken many others before. I’m here to show that when talent, purpose, and determination align, anything is possible.
