Hibat Allah Riahi
Height: 5’6
Hometown: Montréal, QC
Languages: English, French, Arabic
Occupation: Studying law and international relations in Bois-de-Boulogne College
Born in the land of jasmine, also known as Tunisia, Hibat has had the thrilling opportunity to expand her horizons in Canada as a little girl. Based in Montreal, she is currently studying law and international relations. She is 20 years old, and French, English, and Arabic are her spoken languages. While she is fluent in all of them, she is fond of exchanging meaningful conversations with the beings of earth by honoring and recognizing everybody’s view of life. Indeed, being an only child and having been through the Arab Spring didn’t limit her ability to shift her perspective. Hibat particularly enjoys expanding her knowledge thanks to philosophical and spiritual learnings. Also, practicing yoga and meditation keeps her in a state of flow as it is a powerful tool to coordinate the physical and the spiritual realms.
The fact that she has experienced the wonders of life in two different continents has sculpted her mind’s eye in more than one way. Her way of finding beauty in duality is one of them. She believes in seeing the world through the soul and not through the body. Indeed, to create meaning is to be respectfully curious about adapting to everyone’s authenticity and personal perspective. In her teenage years, she has been in contact with bullying which shaped her as a human. Mental health and the problems of cyberbullying are subjects that should take as much space as possible. After a period of solitude and deep introspection, Hibat learned the importance of listening to her inner voice. Her goal is not just surface level. She desires to raise awareness and the collective’s consciousness.

I enjoy observing the world because I believe it has so many different aspects that are yet to be discovered with a new perceptive. When you listen to your environnement, you listen to your inner world. One does not go without the other. As a woman who got the chance to introspect and enhance every part of herself, I feel like I have mastered a deep non judgmental point of view. This point of view will be helpful for more than one aspect of life. I would love to be able to open the eyes of many and help them see the positive in a lot situations. The bliss that life has the ability of giving should be felt by more souls. I deeply appreciate the fact that my interest has the power to heal others.
List any special training you have had (music, art, drama, dance, etc.)
I pursued five years of visual arts with the same passionate teacher. I developed strong brush painting techniques and learned more about inspiring artists with impressive life stories. My creative side ignited from a young age since a pen and a paper lets my imagination take form. I learned to let myself flow and never put limits to my imagination.
In what sports, if any, have you participated?
My current special aptitudes consist of a variety of exercises that I learned when I was younger in my gymnastics and swimming classes. Both sports taught me the importance to have trust in one self and to enjoy the collaboration of other talented teamates. At a young age, it is important to learn to see the positive in everything because it can shape our future reality. I am grateful to have participated in these sports because I will bring this knowledge to all the places that I will have the chance to visit.
Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
The person who influenced me the most is someone who taught me that you don’t always have to look outside of you when in need of help because everything you need is residing inside of you. That person is the great Alan Watts. His philosophy guided me through confusion and gave me the power to incorporate being zen. He unraveled the mystery of my subconscious mind which scripts what we think of ourselves. By opening that door, I opened a gate full of wonder which fuels my hunger that is conscious of the fact that there is only an eternal now.
He holds a special place in my heart because he teaches not in order for the students to praise the teacher, but in order for them to praise themselves by fully acknowledging their existence in every realm of reality. I completely believe that one comes in contact with what Alan Watts offers when they are ready. The genuineness that rises from his work needs to be felt, before it being acknowledged and accepted. After listening to his lectures for hours, I feel in harmony with the universe. The differences that create duality are conceptual. We begin to truly see the world when we stop forcing conceptions. What he taught me is beyond mind blowing. Indeed, magic gains a sense that can be created.
What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?
Connecting to my power is something that I am very proud about. After undergoing bullying at school, I alchemized my pain into power by developing emotional autarchy which is the ability to process, understand and regulate emotions independently. It is the nervous system’s polished aptitude to handle emotional complexity. I believe that to be deeply rooted within yourself will make others respond to you based on the depths of your authenticity and what makes you you. That way the role that you play is off a mirror. The people you exchange with will be confronted with the patterns that caused them to be held back from thinking, living and creating in ways that make them surrender to their fullest potential.
What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
I have undergone many breakthroughs. Some more powerful that the others. I felt like they were meant to only destroy me but teaching me something was the ultimate goal. I have shed every part of myself and unlearned everything I have been taught. That is where my love for meditation and spirituality came from. It has saved me. Life gained a whole new meaning in my perspective and I started loving myself in a level I didn’t know could be reached. I have become someone new. And turns out that that someone new is the person I always dreamed of being and was meant to become.
What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
I am already taking a step forward into my desired reality by presenting something I believe can be changed for the good of all in our universe. The minimized knowledge about the power our belief system holds. When I encounter a being that isn’t aware of their faculty to inhence their potential, it saddens me. It is an occurrence for a lot of humans to think outside of themselves when they seek help, but I want everyone to know that everything they need is residing inside of them and it is waiting for them to accept their strength and inner stand their individuality by bringing awareness to the body mind and soul. The sky isn’t the limit, the belief system is. You can change that by integrating faith into oneself.
Pursuing this type of knowledge can only lead to the expansion of the horizon, for me and everyone interested in reaching new heights. Whether it being personal or professional.
My wisdom doesn’t only come from my knowledge, but also from my heart. Therefore, to be able to teach is to be able to connect with others. Pursuing my ambition requires a soul to soul connection, and a personal ambition to travel the world. While doing so, I would create magical yoga and mediation retreats. Building from center space can only lead to the creation of a strong foundation.
What would be your “dream job” in life?
Through darkness I found my worth. Therefore, I wish to give a hand to my receivers by making sure they indulge the idea of a light at the end of the tunnel. I strongly believe that even if we can not see the light, it doesn’t mean that it is absent. You might need to change your perception to even just feel it.
My approach towards this goal of mine is to bring my knowledge to the table by sharing and teaching with my own method, which consists in inspiring thanks to the proof that I am, the strength to create from an open heart space. My dream ideas have the possibility to come to life via, for example, being a spokeswoman to give rise to the promising essence inside all of us and the opening of a spa where wellness recognizes a new sense of value.
This ascension means the universe to me because it is personal but has the power to offer a positive influence on everyone. I am devoted to become an inspiration, since the only thing that kept my dreams a reality is my faculty to admire.
Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I experienced a quite uncommon childhood as it faced a drastic change. It began in Tunisia and finished in Canada. Giving me an opportunity to expand my view on life, I aim to gaze at the horizon.
My first years of life in Tunisia gifted me a strong sense of humanity, as I encountered the deepest layers of what divides us as human beings who came to grace the earth. The revolution that took place, whilst I lived there, did not have a choice but to shape me into the woman I am today. Although I was still a little girl, I could feel the importance of the impact it could leave and the population’s immense desire to live their desired reality.
As I arrived with my parents in Canada with no den of familiarity in sight, it was the start of a new beginning. This kind of change is the kind that happens for a reason. A reason well thaught in but also driven by faite. I was presented with the opportunity to connect and create a bond with other allophone classmates from different origins and backgrounds as me from my early stages. On my way home from school, I enjoyed singing songs that I learned during the day. I can say that it shaped the way I view the world because I now like to perceive it as songs that perfectly express the ways I may feel.
The meaning of giving yourself a purpose and the relevance to fight for it is what my both nationalities enlightened me on. As of today, I aspire to give back to the whole universe.
List any volunteering you have done.
To provide necessities to human beings that do not have access to them is something that I did with care. My secondary school also organized a way for the students to be able to give to those in need. Amongs the vital needs, there is food. We all believe that food should never be a luxury. It is one of those things that should be provided no matter the circonstances. In other words, I believe gratification is not the one thing to be felt when giving. It is essential, therefore a normality. My strength grants me the gift of connecting at a soul level with people in need of help, support and encouragement. I have been in there place, and giving guidance is a must that comes naturally to me.
What is your most unusual talent?
My talent is the subject of a moment of refreshment that can give you the power to attain peace. Having the ability to connect with oneself and alchamize pain into power through meditation is my super power. It reminds me that everything I need is residing inside of me and that nothing can beat a calm mind. Giving yourself the chance to heal should not be something to take lightly. I also practice different forms of yoga. I enjoy the yin yoga because it benefits in calming the nervous system thanks to its specific slow movements around the lower back and hips. The Hatha yoga is centered around breath work and is ideal for maintaining a balanced mind and body. I recommend both this different forms of yoga arising from the principles of the traditional Chinese medecine and from the captivating traditions and holistic systems of India. They are great for beginners and beings who desire to attain a harmonious balance between their mind, body and soul. After all, a harmonized human creates a harmonious environment where one can thrive and conquer the universe.
Where is the most interesting place you have been to?
Situed in North Africa, Sidi Bou Saïd has to be the most delighteful place I have ever been to. It is a village filled with cobbled streets and a dreamy nature. With its beautiful integration of the country’s culture and traditions that are put on display for everyone to admire, you can find the wonders of a nation with a white and blue surrounding. The mediterranean sea adds a nostalgic atmosphere, especially during the summer time. Plus, the many restaurants propose exquisite traditionnal dishes that will make you remember them at home. I always feel a mix of peace and joie de vivre when I visit it.
What do you hope to be doing in ten years?
In ten years, I envison myself embracing the quest of a lifetime which is travelling the world. I have always looked up to different cultures than mine and wondered with a curious eye how beautiful it is that life can be lived through distinct perspectives and traditions. I aim to never stop opening my mind’s view. Although it is a practice that I give myself grace to do whenever it is possible thanks to people that cross my path or my imagination, I know it would be such a pleasure to do so while exchanging with new beings throughout the globe. I believe life is meant to be lived that way because we are one. Also, I aim to be the catalyst to the new way of thinking that embraces the fact that there is no limit in life. I am inspired by the idea of oneness that makes a human understand the art of living. To be able to live and let live emphasizes the importance of being genuine with one another because we are all connected.
Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?
The devotion that I have to listen to my inner guidance encourages me to share my gift to Canada and the rest of the world. I desire to sprinkle seeds of light on the path of every being. Presenting the keys that lead to unity is something that lights a fire in me. I feel an immense sense towards bringing the lighthouse into our existence.
