Miss Universe Canada

Valerie Kalmykova
Valerie Kalmykova

Height: 5’4
Hometown: Bolton, ON
Languages: English, Ukrainian
Occupation: Dance instructor, Nutritionist

Valerie was born and raised in Ukraine and is now grateful to call Canada her home. She holds a degree in psychology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, one of the top universities in Eastern Europe. Originally training in visual arts with dreams of becoming a teacher, her path shifted at the age of 16 when she discovered her passion for psychology and the power of the human mind.

Today, Valerie is a dedicated dance instructor who combines movement with psychology to help others not just dance—but truly live their best lives. She is the creator of Allure Flow, a unique dance style that blends elegance, sensuality, and emotional expression to help women feel confident, free, and deeply connected to themselves. Her classes are not about performance, but about empowerment—guiding her students to reclaim their confidence, embrace their sensuality, and rediscover their self-worth.

Valerie is also a content creator who uses platforms like Instagram and YouTube to reach women around the world. Through motivational videos, workshops, personal stories, and educational content, she shows that every limitation starts in the mind—and that confidence is not something we’re born with, but something we can build and her life story is the best example of it!

Her mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire women to believe in themselves, to stop shrinking to fit expectations, and to understand that they are already enough. By blending the art of movement with the science of the mind, Valerie is helping a new generation of women unlock their strength and authenticity—on and off the dance floor.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?

One person who has had the most influence on my life is my grandfather. He always believed in me and taught me that being generous and wise is more important than anything else. He showed me that the sky is the limit and that I can achieve anything I set my heart and mind to. His belief in me shaped the confidence I have today.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?

My proudest personal accomplishment is creating “Allure Flow”, a dance style that blends psychology and movement to help women build confidence and self-love. I’m most proud when I hear from my students how our classes and my mentorship make them feel happier and more confident. Making someone’s day—even just a little better—brings me great joy. Knowing I’ve helped others break through their mental limits and believe in their own power is incredibly rewarding and motivates me every day.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?

The most interesting thing about me is that I had no athletic background and only started dancing at the age of 20. Despite many people doubting that I could ever move gracefully, I believed in myself. Today, I’m proud to be one of the top international dance instructors, with a community of over 70,000 followers. My journey is proof that it’s never too late to start, and that belief in yourself can take you anywhere.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

My career ambition is to empower women worldwide to believe in themselves and live their fullest, most confident lives. I plan to accomplish this by expanding my work as a dance instructor and content creator, sharing my unique Allure Flow method that combines psychology and movement. One day, I hope to open a dance studio that offers not only dance but also nutrition, psychology, and everything needed to support women’s overall well-being. Through teaching, online platforms, and ongoing growth, I aim to inspire and support women on their journeys to self-love and confidence.

What would be your “dream job” in life?

I’m already living my dream job and couldn’t be happier. So I just want to expand it by becoming a certified psychologist in Canada and opening my studio! Helping women build confidence and self-love through dance and psychology is what truly fulfills me. Being able to inspire and empower others every day is a privilege and the dream I’m grateful to live.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in Ukraine in a beautiful, loving family as an only child. My childhood was full of love, acceptance, and support, and I’m deeply grateful to my parents and grandparents for that foundation. From an early age, I studied visual arts and dreamed of becoming a ballerina. At just 10 years old, I was already organizing events like Miss Neighborhood and many others in my community. I’ve always been a creative and happy kid who loved expressing myself, and at 20, I began dancing seriously.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.

I have helped organize and conduct psychological testing for the Anti-Corruption Committee of Ukraine.

List any volunteering you have done.

Through my work, I volunteer my time to speak with women about confidence and self-worth, offering support and guidance to help them believe in themselves and teach them dancing. Additionally I’ve helped gather and donate essential supplies for people affected by the war in Ukraine.

What is your most unusual talent?

  • Pole Dancing

Where is the most interesting place you have been to?

One of the most eye-opening places, that gave me meaningful experience was a mental health hospital in Kyiv, where I completed my practice for clinical psychology subject. It was a powerful experience that taught me a lot about human resilience, compassion, and the importance of mental health support. And how fragile the human psyche is. It deepened my passion for helping others and shaped how I work with people today.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years?

In ten years, I hope to become a certified consulting psychologist in Canada, using my education to support others on a deeper level. I want to continue inspiring and empowering women through Instagram, YouTube, and my dance classes. My dream is to open a studio that serves as a sacred space for growth—a place where women can reconnect with themselves through movement, psychology, and community support.

Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?

I’m truly grateful to be part of this pageant and to have the opportunity to connect with inspiring women from all across Canada. It’s an honor to share this journey and celebrate confidence, strength, and sisterhood together.
