Miss Universe Canada

Jordynne Alexandrea

Hometown:
 Edmonton, AB

Occupation:

Raised in a family where ambition and discipline were a way of life, Jordynne grew up watching her father train as an Olympic hopeful in fighting. His dedication shaped her understanding of resilience, performance, and what it means to chase excellence. That same spirit carried into her own path, where creativity and courage became the foundation of everything she pursued.

From a young age, Jordynne stepped into the world of entertainment, becoming a Disney performer and later taking the stage as an opening act for Alessia Cara. Performing taught her how to connect with people, command a room, and express herself with authenticity—skills that continue to influence every chapter of her life.

At just fourteen, Jordynne became a model for an international magazine, an experience that opened doors to global storytelling, travel, and self‑expression. Her love for movement and exploration eventually led Jordynne to become a flight attendant, where she learned to navigate the world with empathy, adaptability, and curiosity.

Today, Jordynne carries all these experiences with her—fighter’s grit, performer’s heart, and traveler’s perspective. Each chapter has shaped not only her identity, but also Jordynne’s belief that life is meant to be lived boldly, creatively, and with purpose.

My career ambition is to attend law school and build a successful career in the legal field. I am deeply passionate about law and committed to pursuing advanced studies to make a meaningful impact. With my dedication, strong work ethic, and the knowledge I have already gained through research, I believe I have the potential to be accepted into a prestigious Ivy League school such as Harvard or Yale. Attending one of these esteemed institutions would provide me with the ideal foundation to achieve my goals and contribute to justice and advocacy. I have a family friend who is currently attending Harvard, and their experience has inspired me greatly as I prepare for my own academic journey. To get ready for law school and deepen my understanding of human relationships, I have been writing a book titled “Love & Hate,” which is based on my studies in Marriage and Family. This project allows me to explore complex emotions and dynamics, further enriching my perspective and preparing me for the challenges ahead. I plan to include this work as a meaningful addition to my Harvard application.

Alongside my artistic pursuits, I participated in numerous camps and youth programs, which provided me with valuable experiences, friendships, and opportunities for personal growth. These camps and programs were an important part of my childhood, helping me develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging. Growing up, I was surrounded by a strong culture of charity-driven work. My family and community emphasized the importance of giving back and helping those in need. This environment inspired me to develop compassion and a commitment to serving others, which has remained a core part of who I am. Being involved in charitable activities from a young age has shaped my values and motivated me to make a positive impact in the world.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.

One of the most unusual jobs I’ve had was helping to organize my high school reunion while living out of town. Despite the distance, I successfully coordinated the event using Zoom and various online social media platforms. This experience challenged me to adapt and use technology creatively to connect with classmates and manage the planning process remotely. It was a unique opportunity that taught me valuable skills in communication, organization, and digital collaboration.

List any volunteering you have done.

I supported a local family navigating the aftermath of losing loved ones to suicide by offering consistent companionship, community connection, and mental‑health–focused initiatives. My involvement centered on creating moments of stability, belonging, and hope for one of the sisters, as well as raising awareness for others experiencing similar grief.

One of the most meaningful parts of this experience was spending intentional one‑on‑one time with her. On the anniversary of her loved one’s passing, I took her out for breakfast to help her feel supported. Recognizing how isolating grief can be, I also organized her friend group to join her in a local mental health awareness run in 2025. This helped her feel surrounded by people who cared, while also connecting her loss to a broader community effort focused on healing and prevention.

To further support the family and raise awareness, I organized multiple mental‑health–themed community initiatives called “Spreading Sunshine events.” I coordinated volunteers, gathered donations, and assembled more than 30 gift bags designed to “brighten someone’s mental health.” Each bag included uplifting messages, comfort items, and resources for emotional support. These were distributed to individuals in the community who were struggling, helping spark conversations about mental health and reminding people they weren’t alone.

Through these efforts, I helped bring visibility to suicide awareness, encouraged open dialogue, and created supportive environments for those coping with loss. This experience strengthened my commitment to compassionate community service and mental‑health advocacy.

What is your most unusual talent?

I have developed a vocal jazz singing technique called scatting, which allows me to improvise using rhythmic and melodic sounds without words. I had the exciting opportunity to showcase this skill during an opening performance for Alessia Cara. Using scatting added a dynamic and expressive element to my singing, highlighting my versatility as a performer and my love for jazz music.

Where is the most interesting place you have been to?

Disneyland in California is the most interesting place I’ve ever visited because I had the rare opportunity to go backstage and see the behind-the-scenes magic. Exploring areas usually hidden from the public gave me a fascinating glimpse into how the park operates, from the performers’ preparations to the intricate details that bring the experience to life. This unique access deepened my appreciation for the creativity and hard work involved in making Disneyland such a magical place.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years?

In 10 years, I envision myself as a practicing attorney who is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through the law. I am passionate about justice, advocacy, and using my knowledge to help individuals and communities navigate complex legal challenges. Alongside my legal career, I also hope to establish myself as a published author, sharing my experiences, insights, and stories with a wide audience. Writing has always been a powerful way for me to express my thoughts and connect with people, and I want to use this platform to inspire and empower others. By balancing both careers, I believe I can create a unique impact—combining the rigor and discipline of law with the creativity and influence of writing. This dual path will allow me to fulfill my ambitions and contribute positively to society in multiple ways.
