Taylor Hawkes

Height: 5’4
Hometown: Whitehorse, YK
Languages: English
Occupation: Flight Attendant

Taylor Hawkes was born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia. At age 21, she moved to Whitehorse, Yukon to work as a Flight Attendant. Her long-term goal is to become an Art Therapist so she can help young children and youth cope, heal, and process through the use of art.

Whether it be gymnastics, learning a new instrument, or moving overseas for six months to attend Capernwray Bible College in England, Taylor has never shied away from a challenge. While at Capernwray she was able to meet new people from around the world as well as deepen her knowledge of the bible. In high school she was in the Lady of the Lake regional pageant. She was able to learn some life skills such as changing a tire and how to defend herself. She was also able to practice her public speaking skills during her speech about a historic building in Kelowna. All of these challenges helped shape her into the confident woman that she is.

Volunteer work has been an important part of Taylor’s life. There are two examples that stand out for her. The first were the two trips she was able to take to Hermosillo, Mexico to help renovate a local church with her youth group. During her time there she helped decorate and repaint the church as well as build a playground for the children. During her time spent with the locals Taylor was excited to be able to learn some Spanish phrases that enabled her to learn more about their culture. The second is the many summers she spent at Gardom Lake Bible Camp as both a media tech and cabin leader. She felt fulfilled by the ability to be able to mentor and support the many young girls in her cabin throughout the summers.
