Q&A

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?

In my free time, I enjoy singing in Persian, which helps me stay connected to my roots and emotions—sometimes I even record my songs in the studio. I love exploring fashion and makeup as a way to express my individuality, and weight training is an important part of my life because it builds both strength and discipline. I also enjoy traveling to experience new cultures, reading books, and spending quality time with my family—these moments bring me true joy. These passions reflect who I am and inspire me to live with confidence and authenticity.

In what sports, if any, have you participated?

My main sport has always been weight training. In my younger years, I also practiced volleyball and karate, which I pursued up to the brown belt level.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?

Audrey Hepburn has been a major influence in my life. Even after her passing, she left a legacy that continues to inspire. She is a timeless symbol of beauty, elegance, and grace—not just for her chic style and bold lipstick, but for her humanitarian work and inspiring words. One quote that deeply resonates with me is, “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” It reminds me that true beauty comes from kindness, inner peace, and the way we carry ourselves.

I’m also inspired by the butterfly—a symbol of transformation, resilience, and growth. Its journey from a caterpillar to a creature of elegance shows that change, though difficult, can lead to something extraordinary. Both Audrey Hepburn and the butterfly represent grace and transformation—values I strive to reflect in my own life.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than participating in this pageant)?

My proudest accomplishment is raising my two sons—two beautiful human beings with strong morals and principles—especially after overcoming the challenges of the emotionally and physically draining IVF journey.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?

The most interesting thing about me is my ability to combine beauty, wisdom, and resilience. At 56, I’ve embraced life’s challenges and turned them into opportunities for growth. Despite facing many hardships in my younger years, I’ve always had the strength to break barriers. I’m passionate about self-expression through singing, fashion, and makeup, while also maintaining discipline and strength through weight training. My journey is one of transformation, proving that age is no limit to living fully, being authentic, and inspiring others to do the same.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

My career ambition is to continue growing the successful electrical business I run with my husband, while also expanding my role as a voice for empowerment and inclusion. Competing for Miss Universe Canada is part of that larger goal—it’s a platform I hope to use to inspire others, especially women of all ages, to pursue their dreams with confidence. I plan to achieve this by staying dedicated to my work, embracing new opportunities, and sharing my journey to promote kindness, self-belief, and resilience—both in business and beyond.

What would be your “dream job” in life?

I’m already living one of my dream jobs by running a successful business with my husband. However, another dream of mine is to become a recognized beauty or fitness model for my age group. I love being in front of the camera—it allows me to connect with my true self and express my passion for makeup, hair, and fitness. Modeling would not only allow me to meet new people, but also inspire others by showing that beauty, strength, and confidence have no age limit.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I was raised in Tehran, Iran, in a very challenging and abusive environment, with no love or support. Despite this, I always found ways to break barriers—through singing, dancing, and joyful moments with my friends at school. I chose not to focus on the pain, but instead turned it into purpose. Those early experiences shaped me into the strong, resilient woman I am today. And while I didn’t grow up with love, I made it my mission to raise my sons with all the love I never received.

List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had.

One of the most interesting jobs I’ve had was working as a grape harvester, and another was being a janitor at a school for children with special needs when I was 19–20 years old and living in France. Both of these experiences taught me patience, humility, and the true value of hard work. They reminded me never to judge anyone by their profession—every job done with dignity is meaningful, very respectable, and worthy, especially during a time when I had no financial or emotional support.

List any volunteering you have done.

Although my younger years were filled with hardship and I’ve carried a busy schedule throughout much of my life, I haven’t had as many opportunities to volunteer as I would have wished. However, one of the reasons I’m truly passionate about being part of Miss Universe Canada is the chance to give back through the humanitarian projects the organization supports. I look forward to using this platform to dedicate more time to philanthropic work and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

What is your most unusual talent?

I’m not sure if it’s unusual, but one of my strongest talents is my ability to lead and plan with ease. Whether it’s organizing a group vacation, a large event, or a special gathering, I’m able to manage and coordinate every detail smoothly and efficiently. I also have a natural ability to uplift others—when someone in my family or circle of friends is feeling down, I’m a compassionate listener and often able to make a positive impact simply through conversation.

Where is the most interesting place you have been to?

I’ve been fortunate to travel to many incredible places, exploring over 30 countries and countless cities around the world. While Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Maui, Hawaii were truly unforgettable, my all-time favorite cities are Paris—the city of love—and Istanbul, with its vibrant energy and rich culture.

What do you hope to be doing in ten years?

In 10 years, I hope to be traveling more with my husband, exploring new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. I also aspire to pursue professional modeling within my age group, engage in meaningful philanthropic work, and be a game-changing role model. I hope to leave a lasting legacy of myself, one that continues to inspire others long after I’m gone. My goal is to encourage people to believe in themselves, never give up, pursue their dreams, practice self-care, and lead with kindness—while always staying true to who they are.

Is there anything you would like to add that we haven’t asked?

Turning 40, 50, and beyond is not the end–it’s a new beginning. With each decade comes greater wisdom, strength, and the courage to chase our dreams. It’s time to embrace our age, redefine vibrancy, and show the world we’re just getting started. Aging is a mindset–you’re as young and beautiful as you feel. With my platform, I hope to be the beginning of a big change—to show that we can be beautiful at any age, as long as we believe in ourselves and chase our dreams. We should never be afraid of change or challenges, because there is always time for growth. True glamour shines through courage, like the moon glows from the sun.
