As you probably have seen on the news, Toronto has experienced higher than normal rain lately; there has been so much rain in short periods of time that several prominent places of business and people’s homes have experienced severe flooding. Unfortunately, the John Bassett Theatre is one of those places of business that has been affected; and as such, they have advised us they will be unable to host the Miss Universe Canada pageant this year. HOWEVER, I am pleased to announce that a new venue to host the event for this year has been confirmed: THE GEORGE WESTON RECITAL HALL – TORONTO CENTRE FOR THE ARTS (http://www.tocentre.com/theatres/george-weston-recital-hall) – 5040 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON

For those of you that have purchased and received tickets already, please retain those tickets, and they will be replaced with tickets for the new venue. For those of you that have purchased and not received tickets yet, please note that your tickets will be issued with the new venue. Replacement tickets will be available for pick up at the new venue on prelims and final nights, they will be kept in an envelope under your name at the theatre entrance.

Like they say in the business, the show must go on, and ours will. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this situation that is beyond our control. As always, we will have a great show.

If you have purchased tickets online through our website (www.missuniversecanada.ca) and wish NOT to attend the event, please notify us by sending an email to tickets@beautiesofcanada.comand we will issue a refund.
